Sociology of Education

This lecture aims to familiarize students with sociological reasoning, the classics of the sociology of education, and key concepts for analyzing educational issues as a sociologist. It will be divided into four parts to address the issue of educational inequalities and their reproduction, the social functions of the educational system, parental education, and educational policies. The final assessment will be a literature review that will focus on a topic chosen by the student in consultation with the teacher, related to the sociology of education.
